Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making her the second-youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian native New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded an Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the enthusiastic and lively character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the honor. After she responded to an open call for auditions to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. The actress was just nine and had no acting experience. As a teenager the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin made her debut when she was a kid, with the character in the Jane Eyre protagonist in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre, and then an important role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. She portrayed teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
